Quavo Huncho-Quavo

It’s about time the highly anticipated solo Quavo album drop! It’s what we’ve all been waiting for. Quavo has been labeled as the star of the group for quite some time now, so it was only expected that he drop a solo album around this time.

There’s no need to pretend, this album has some of the hottest beats of this time. And the features are amazing. But is that all it is? I’ve spoken to many people, including fans, and most of us agree that Quavo definitely isn’t the best lyricist out right now. And it really shows on this album. Offset and Takeoff took the attention away from this, which highlighted Quavo’s dope a** tone of voice on the chorus of all of their songs.

Quavo doesn’t necessarily have a flow when he raps. Instead, he uses words and phrases in the same repetitive sequences. A friend told me that listening to Quavo’s album is like listening to someone rap the ABC’s. And although I love him, I couldn’t say I disagree.

Due to the sick beats, fire features, and his tone of voice, many will look past the simple lyrics. But the tricky part is when you’re trying to listen to the whole album all the way through. After listening to about 3 songs you’ll begin to realize that he sounds the same on most of them. And instead of turning it to a different song on the album, you’ll search for a new artist.

Top Five songs streamed:

1.“Biggest Alley OOP”– The beat is too crazy on this song to not like it!

2.“Pass Out (feat. 21 savage)”– Migos are known for they’re catchy ad-libs. And this song shows you how important they are because the ad libs made this song a success…And 21 always helps.

3. “Huncho Dreams”– I still don’t even know what to say about this song! I feel like I need a whole separate post to speak on this subject. It’s definitely shocking to many for Quavo to retaliate in this way. But at the same time, many do feel like Nicki Minaj has been getting herself in deep water with everyone lately and then playing the victim. Did Quavo take it too far or it simply a diss track?

4. “Flip The Switch (feat. Drake)”– This is one of my favorite songs on the album. I felt like his flow was the best on this song. I’m not sure if it’s because of Drake but this song has more dynamics to it.

5. “RERUN (feat. Travis Scott)– Come on now! Travis turns every song into his song. That’s why all of them are’bops’, whether you like it or not. ‘Lol’

My Least Favorite Songs:

1. Give it to em (feat. Saweetie)– I’m sorry but the lyrics and flow on this song is just so elementary. And the beat is average. I’m also not feeling Saweeties part. I like her but I don’t like her projection and the way she comes in on this song.

2. Big Bro- There just wasn’t enough substance to this song for me. And I’m not a fan of the chorus or the delivery of the ‘Big Bro’ concept.

3. F**k 12 (feat. Offset)– I like everything Offset does in this song( chorus and verse). But I’m not feeling either of Quavo’s verses. And the “f**k 12, f**k, f**k 12” kinda’ gets annoying after a while.

Hottest Beats:

1. Biggest Alley OOP

2.Workin Me

3.Champagne Rose (feat. Cardi B.)

4. Go All the way
