Weezy is not Lil Wayne!

Omg, so this just turned my world upside down! Maybe I’m the only who didn’t know this. But I had no idea that the producer Wheezy is not Weezy aka Lil Wayne ‘lmao’. I’m pretty good with keeping up with the producers that step into the limelight. But Wheezy totally passed me by. I blame it on Drake and his confusing ass lyrics.”Wheezy produced it and Weezy F. made me”. Ever since that song, I was sure “wheezy outta here” (Future’s voice) was Lil Wayne. But now that I know, I wanted to tell you a little bit about him and highlight his accomplishments.

Wesley Glass (born October 26, 1992), known professionally as Wheezy, is an American record producer from Atlanta.[1][2] Wheezy has worked with artists such as Young Thug21 SavageMigos and Shad da God.

Early life

Wheezy started making beats at the age of 15, for his brother who went by TG Montana who taught him how to work FL Studio. He then started working with Shad da God, who previously went by Rich Kid Shawty, an original member of Rich Kidz. Wheezy has gotten tons of production advice from big producers such as Metro BoominSouthsideSonny Digital and Lex Luger which he has gotten the ability to collab with.[2]

Production style and influences

The Fader wrote that Wheezy’s production “tends toward the spacious and spare,” and gave him credit for “much of the opaque, pristine production of 2015’s Barter 6, and several highlights from the Slime Season series.”[2] He uses FL Studio, along with the M-Audio Oxygen 88 keyboard. Glass often utilizes samples, especially vintage sounds. He says he “blends” his snares. Glass states that his influences lists Drumma BoyShawty Redd and DJ Toomp, which he describes as having their own distinctive styles, along with WondaGurl, who he has been recently interested in.[2]
