Beyonce’s Global Citizens Festival Outfit Changes

Beyonce and Jay-z headlined the 2018 global citizen festival in Cape Town, Africa to honor Nelson Mandela’s legacy. Beyonce’s performance attire is the most inspirational attire I’ve ever seen. Every outfit has a purpose, motive, and an amazing concept. Her outfits truly enhance her performances. So what better than to highlight it.

Celebrating the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela, Beyoncé and JAY-Z headlined the Global Citizens Festival on Sunday in Johannesburg, South Africa. This year’s festival, which commemorated what would have been Mandela’s 100th birthday, united thousands of attendees including celebrities like Pharrell, Chris Martin, Naomi Campbell, and more.

Beyoncé, who performed at Mandela’s inaugural 46664 Aids Benefit Concert back in 2004, returned to celebrate the late South African president’s activism and achievements through a series of performances as well as a personal letter she shared on her site. “Your kindness and gratitude for every experience, and your ability to forgive are lessons I have learned and will pass on to my three children. My entire family holds you in high regard,” she wrote in the letter. “It is an honor for me to travel to South Africa this week in celebration of you and your efforts to right so many wrongs. “

Along with her words, Queen Bey also used her stage wardrobe and many costume changes to celebrate the culture and diversity Mandela fought to protect in Africa. From a Mary Katrantzou cape that paid homage to 54 African countries to a dress that featured thousands of African beads, the singer’s wardrobe costumes were not only epic designs, many of them also subtly celebrated the beauty and diversity of Africa. See all her outfit changes from the festival below.
