Yella Beezy
Yella Beezy just came out of nowhere. Unfortunately, I did hear about him getting shot 3 times. But I never heard his music until he dropped “That’s on me (feat. 2 Chainz, T.I, Rich The Kid, Jeezy, Boosie Badazz & Trapboy Freddy). When his voice came in on this track, I immediately thought it was hot. All the features were dope but I wanted to no more about Yella Beezy. So I listened to his album as soon as it dropped. And song after song is straight fire. You can definitely tell that his music is inspired by Texas/ southern hip-hop. The album title is ‘Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc. It doesn’t get more Texas than that. His beats are slow and hard-hitting or consistent with a lot of groove. His accent comes out strong through every song and I love it. I think it actually adds to his sound. It makes his singing sound better, almost like country lol’. And it adds a mood to his flow.
In Texas, we like to slow bounce. So I wasn’t sure if it was because I was raised in TX that I liked his album so much or if it was really just that good. But every time I play it for people here in NYC, they ‘be bouncin’, followed with an “I like this” Lol’. Another thing that I like about this album is that every song has a good concept and sticks with it, making the album cohesive. The features we’re matched perfectly for each song with a good combination of artists. I can’t wait to see what YellaBeezy is going to do next. I’m officially a fan.
