Trending Pandemic Hairstyles

Let’s be honest. The times have been hard on all of our hairs. Not being able to make an appointment with your stylist especially in the midst of a pandemic can really get you down. Some say it’s just hair. And while “I am not my hair” is true, having a bad hair day or shall I say a bad hair month doesn’t add to the fun. But like we do everything, we made it work!

I love seeing all of the box brands, protective styles, and wigs down my timeline. Some of us were already doing our own hair. And the rest of us learned real quick. Either way, we all look beautiful!

Box Braids

Box braids are probably the most popular hairstyle of the pandemic. They’re so easy to manage. Plus, they last long. You can make them whatever length you want. And even add some color or jewelry to make it pop. You can also save yourself some money by learning how to do your own.

High Bun

Another easy style to try is a high bun. This style is a classic. You can add some weave to make your bun bigger or keep it simple with your own hair. Either way, anyone can do it! It’s a super cute way to rock that natural hair of yours. And most importantly, it’s free!

Poofy Pony

The poofy pony, similar to the high bun is also a natural hair classic. Except the ponytail is usually a tad bit lower than your high bun would be. This style is great for all hair types. Your hair texture is actually whats makes the bun special for you. The bigger the poof the better!

Twist out

Twist outs take more preparation than all of the other styles. Your hair type, length, and cut can really help diversify this look from others. You can also style your twist outs. Maybe do half up half down, Twist it to the front, twist it to the back. There are so many options to explore with this look.

Cheap Wig

The pandemic left many people unemployed. So buying an expensive wig to sit in the house may not be the best financial decision. Plus, many of us are getting pretty good at styling & installing our own wigs. So getting a cheaper wig for short term use is a nice alternative. You can go with the cheaper curly synthetic wig OR go with the more expensive non-customized human hair wig. Both options have their pros and cons. It’s all about the styling.

Cut it off!

Or you can take the easiest or for some the hardest way out and shave your head. This might sound like a crazy option. But I was surprised at the number of people who actually did it. But if you’re looking for some change this may be the right option for you. It can give you a really stylish & bold look while highlighting that beautiful face of yours. Natural is in! Go for it!
