I couldn’t go without reviewing one of my favorite rapper’s recent album, ‘So Icy Summer’. One of the things I like about Gucci Mane is that he consistently puts out new music no matter what he’s doing or where he’s at in his life journey. So his music is often reflective of his present situations, which is cool because it allows us to follow his journey and most importantly be a part of it. But while we all appreciate more music, there needs to be a happy balance between quantity and quality. If there’s too much in quantity, the quality will be overpowered. ‘So Icy Summer’ is the best album Gucci has put out in recent years but the number of songs, in this case, might hinder the projection of quality.
Gucci is doing big things. He’s triumphed over his adversities. And his record label continues to sign artists with great potential. So I get why he would want to highlight their talent and all of this success. However, I do think that he could’ve organized the tracklist better, mixing up the artists. He could’ve also taken a couple of their songs out. I would’ve preferred more collaboration from him on Foogianao and Pooh Shiesty’s songs. Reckon, Lil Baby is featured on several tracks,
It started off really strong but loses steam after song 12 where the other artists come in worst songs; the other people do make it his sound more diverse. best songs are Foogiano. my sister says pooh shiesty sounds like kodak wack but lil baby makes his songs better. Fire ass beats. he should’ve put so icy girls to break up the guys.

Fav Song’s
- Step Out (feat. Future and Foogiano)– This track suits well as the intro’.
- Rain Shower (feat. Young Thug)– Shoutout to Young Thug for providing the fire chorus.
- Both Sides (feat. Lil Baby)- The Classic Gucci vibes were elevated on this track. Plus Lil Baby only adds to the quality.
- Iran (feat K Shiday)– If you’re from the south, you’ll enjoy this track. Great way to introduce K Shiday.
- Nasty (feat. 21 Savage & Young Nudy)- This song was more of Nudy’s style but I love Young Nudy. Plus, Gucci and 21 Savage flow matched the song’s feel perfectly.
- Freakiest in the world (feat. Young Thug)- This song will definitely be stuck in your head. Great collab.
