Projects Of The Week

Hey y’all! Let’s get into this week’s Projects of the Week—a curated mix of vibes that’ll have you feeling everything from digital love to Memphis grit.

💿 Destin Conrad – Love On Digital

Destin Conrad’s debut, Love On Digital, is giving early 2000s R&B nostalgia with a modern twist. Think smooth vocals layered over beats that feel like late-night texts and IG DMs. He dives deep into the complexities of digital-age romance, exploring queerness and the impact of technology on relationships. It’s a sonic journey that feels both personal and universally relatable. It’s giving sound track to life, like the album to an Insecure or Forever episode. Ratings Game Music

☀️ Aminé – 13 Months of Sunshine

Okay Aminé! Aminé’s 13 Months of Sunshine is a vibrant blend of genres, reflecting his Ethiopian heritage and personal growth. From dancehall rhythms to introspective alt-pop tracks, he showcases his versatility. Songs like “Be Easier on Yourself” highlight his introspective lyricism, while collaborations with artists like Toro y Moi and Leon Thomas add depth to the album’s rich tapestry. This album will provide the vibes for any summer mixer, whether it’s overseas or on your patio.

🐐 Key Glock – Glockaveli: The Don

Key Glock’s Glockaveli: The Don is pure Memphis trap—unapologetic and full of swag. Over 18 tracks, he delivers hard-hitting beats and confident flows that solidify his place in the genre. While the album doesn’t venture far from his established sound, it’s a consistent and enjoyable listen for fans. It’s what we needed from him, a project we could listen to start to finish, bobbing ya head mad hard throughout the whole thing.

🔟 SAULT – 10

SAULT’s 10 is a soulful exploration of healing and self-discovery. Blending funk, gospel, and R&B, the album offers a cohesive and emotionally resonant experience. While it may not be their most groundbreaking work, it reinforces SAULT’s position as innovators in the modern soul landscape. Through out the album you’ll hear a very familiar viouce. Our fav, Cleo Sol’s vocals are season the album with a little extra soul. Catch a flow, move your body, and feel empowered with this one. Thank you SAULT for the loving and healing energy.

🎭 Westside Gunn – Heels Have Eyes EP

Westside Gunn’s Heels Have Eyes EP is a brief yet impactful addition to his discography. Tied to his wrestling promotion endeavors, the EP blends boom bap, jazz rap, and soul elements, showcasing Gunn’s signature flair. While some tracks experiment with AI-generated intros, the project remains rooted in Gunn’s established aesthetic. Plus our girl, Doechii has approved, featuring on the remix of the track, Egypt. pitchfork.com

Each of these projects offers a unique lens into the artists’ worlds, providing listeners with a rich tapestry of diverse sounds and stories. Let’s keep grooving the summer.
