Album of the Week- Amber Mark

Finally, Amber Mark has dropped her highly anticipated album, “Three Dimensions Deep”. It’s no secret that Amber is a genuine talent. Her music is tasteful, timeless, and refined. We’ve been fans of Amber Mark since her first two EPs, 3:33 AM, and 2018’s breakthrough Conexão. Those two projects helped me with self-discovery as well as get through a break-up Lol’. Amber’s control over music is truly magical. I love how she blends various genres to create her own sound. We’ve seen Amber perform a few times over the span of her career and her growth is captivating every time. It’s safe to say we’re mega fans.

This particular project, ‘Three Dimensions Deep’ is a special one. The album has so much clarity. You can tell that Amber used her time during the pandemic to really explore the depth of her astrological theories. This exploration is heavy throughout the album, hence the title. The album is structured in three acts describing her journey at different stages; identifying her own insecurities, working through the messy parts of self-discovery, and finally reaching a solid sense of self-worth.

The message of this album is honest and deep; yet simple. You can feel the mix of emotions in the first few tracks, going from anxious, numb, to cutting chords and healing. Then as you get towards the middle of the album the tempo starts to pick up but in a sensual way. And the vibe goes from sexy to cool along the way. The third part of the album kicks in on track 11, ‘Out of This World’. I like how the last section of the album feels like a conclusion. Amber realizes her worth and she moves on to the next step in life, knowing that she still has a lot more to experience. This album is the one to play from start to finish. And just like her previous projects, I know they’ll have an impact on plenty of women who are working through the same feelings.
